Pullen Park

A couple of weeks ago our family took a trip to Pullen Park in Raleigh. I had wanted to go for quite some time and the weather was perfect for a trip to the park. It was a ways from home, but it was definitely worth it.

James and Naomi loved the kiddie boats. I watched with some sadness as Naomi rode all by herself, listened when we told her to sit down, and rang the bell right alongside her big brother. My baby isn't such a baby anymore.

The paddleboats were tricky with two little ones. Wesley did most of the paddling while I prevented the kids from ending up in the water.

Both kids enjoyed the train. It was a nice ride around the park, and in my opinion a better deal than the train at the Museum of Life and Science.

The outdoor carousel was fun. James was excited that he got to ride an ostrich and Little Miss Independent, Naomi, didn't want us holding her at all.

Pros: all of the shade, the fact that all the rides were only $1 (paddleboats $5/30 minutes), and the convenience of the concession stand.

Cons: ticket booth takes debit but concession stand doesn't, playground equipment is a bit outdated and the sand didn't look so clean.
