This year Wesley started school for the first time in 5 years. Naomi started daycare after being at home with Wesley or me her entire life. And, James returned to the same daycare where he was from 9 months old to 2 years old. We were very happy the kids were able to get into their daycare and that they would be in the same place.
Obligatory first day of school pictures.
It is hard to believe that this is James’ last year in preschool/daycare. He adapted very well to his new school and has made many new friends. Each day we hear about what meat and vegetable he did not eat at lunch, who was in timeout, and if he got to ride on the tire swing at the playground.
Naomi had a rougher transition, as we expected. She takes naps on her little cot without a paci. One of the best parts of Wesley or my day is picking Mimi up and having her run and hug us. She is very proud of the art projects she does each day.
It is definitely hard being away from the kids more now that I have a job. Our weekends together mean more. The one positive is that the kids are now successfully sharing a room. They actually go to sleep right when we put them to bed at 8pm. I’m glad that James has the opportunity to go on fieldtrips, walk to the library and farmer’s market once a week, and meet his social needs. I’m also glad Naomi has made new friends, still gets to play with baby dolls, and goes to music class. This fall has been an adjustment for all of us, but we have all adjusted to our new schedules, schools, and job.
Hee hee. Such a precious picture of them on the first day. I giggled my way through this post re: James's eating habits and social needs. :)
